One Year of the Forever Young Podcast!

This blog post is a special one because we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Forever Young Podcast! Happy anniversary to us and a big thank you to our listeners and readers. Christiana and Cherrie sat down to talk about why they started the Forever Young podcast - the pursuit of the fountain of youth, staying Forever Young. Like we have said on many occasions, you cannot make a withdrawal without first making a deposit. Therefore, we all need to make some adjustments to our daily lives in order to build a health bank for the future. We have had a lot of great moments on our podcast! Additionally, we have been delighted to have many guests on our show to talk about healthy living and wellness over this past year! Let's take a moment to reminisce today.

We've talked about our gut health, and nutrition, and eating right because we believe you cannot make a withdrawal without first making a deposit. In our Cancer Prevention podcast episode with Dr. Tania we learned to allow food to be your medicine and use it as a preventive measure - that is where you can be your healthiest.

Dr. Elmira and Noa, co-founders of Fracinelli Gluzman Integrative Medicine, joined us on our podcast to talk about living in optimal wellness. We discussed realistic ways in which we can live in optimal wellness such as starting with water!

Do you remember how many ounces you must drink per day?

To find out how much water you should be drinking a day, take your body weight and divide it by two. On a day when it's 40 degrees outside, you should be drinking a little bit more than that. There is no doubt that most people do not drink enough water, but we need to make an effort to do so in order to feel better and achieve optimal wellness! Isnt it so simple? It is attainable although a lot of people struggle with it.

When you really truly hydrate, it helps with a lot of things such as losing weight, aging, and it helps remove toxins from your body.

Do you remember our episode on sleeping for health? We always love to hear from Dr. Odiatu, who is an internationally acclaimed speaker and practicing dentist in Toronto, Ontario. We debunked multiple myths about sleep and it was amazing to learn how interconnected everything is with the body, including how sleep affects it.

We also enjoyed having Swati on the Forever Young podcast to talk about yoga for pelvic health. We have talked a lot about mindful movement and exercise on the Forever Young podcast. It is important to take notice of how we are feeling, what we are feeling and where we are feeling it. To Swati, yoga is about “connecting to yourself and the people around you. It's an exploration of the body, mind and connecting to your highest self”. Swaati focuses on awareness of the pelvic region in general. Swaati likes to teach yoga for pelvic health with a focus on gentle movement, focused on the breath to bring relaxation to the body and mind. The best tools for our pelvic health are movement and breath, which are big components yoga can offer.

We've learned so much over the last year about staying Forever Young. We are about to embark on a whole new year of podcasts. We are looking forward to a whole wonderful year of great conversations with Christiana and Cherrie, and of course helping our friends, our listeners and our readers stay forever young!
