Though we all enjoy the warm summer weather, we know many of us look forward to the cooler fall weather. As we head into the new season, we discussed how to prepare ourselves for a fresh start on our Forever Young podcast. While January is a month for fresh starts, the start of fall is also a great time to get back on track with your New Years' resolutions or to set new goals for the year. Shifting your thinking can help change your approach towards change and bring new inspiration and hope. Seasonal change can help signify a change in lifestyle and help you get better at being a better version of yourself. Listen to the full podcast episode here:

For many, the start of September symbolizes heading back to school, whether that be middle school, high school, or even university. While for some the beginning of Fall can be like any regular season, it can symbolize a lot of change for those that may move across the country or across the world for school or university.

Many may also spend time away from home during the Summer holidays, so Fall is a time to return back to old routines. The start of fall symbolizes getting back on track - the end of summer parties, barbeques, and vacations and time to head back into a regular routine of work, school, or whatever your schedule may consist of.

The whole idea of a fresh start is to help slowly change your mindset. So take each day one step at a time and check in with your goals from time to time. So, in what ways can we infuse more freshness into our Fall season?

If you work full time and are not necessarily going back to school or work this fall, try to start a new class or set a new goal. This could be a fitness goal or starting a new class like yoga or pilates. You could also invest in a hobby like painting, pottery, or even a rock climbing class! There are also many different classes at local community centers or even the public library. There is so much to learn even if you may not be in school or university so take the time to figure out what skills you would want to work on this season. Learning can be such a positive experience, and as the saying goes when you stop learning, you die.

Spring is usually a famous time to deep clean. However, we can also do our major cleaning throughout the year. You can take up the time to invite your family or friends over to help deep clean a part of your home you have been meaning to clean and put off for months. The task of cleaning will become less boring and less dreadful if you make it a fun event. Changing your mindset about cleaning can accomplish wonders and help you achieve your goals

Fall is a great time to check in with yourself - what has been working, what hasnt and what you may need to tweak. Sometimes you may only need less than an hour to set your goals or revisit your resolutions and make them more realistic and attainable. Let’s start making seasonal resolutions as opposed to just new year resolutions. Check-in with yourself.

September is the new January - it is a great time to make a change. It can be a time to make a fresh start and reevaluate your goals.
