Two Years of the Forever Young Podcast
Happy two-year Anniversary to the Forever Young podcast! The second year of our podcasts has been a really busy year for both Christiana and Cherrie. With all the running around, they have still been able to share some amazing tidbits on how to live better so that we could all be forever young. Together, they are accountability partners and through the two years of our Forever Young podcast, we have all been able to set new goals, new habits, and lifestyle changes together as a community!
The Forever Young podcast aims to educate and create awareness of important topics that help us live healthier life emotionally, mentally, and physically. We have many favorite memories from our podcasts over the last year, as well as many special guests who have made this year a memorable one. Join us in reminiscing as we celebrate two year anniversary of our Forever Young podcast!
Our podcast guests add another dimension to our conversation and bring in expertise and advice only they can offer. Many times over the past year, our very own Dr. Odiatu has been on our podcast to share tips on sleep, healthy eating, or how to take better care of our gut, and it is always a pleasure to learn from him!
We had many podcasts centered on mental health and improving mental health. These past two years have been tough for so many of us while we deal with the effects of COVID-19 in our families and communities, as we get back to a new sense of normal. While COVID-19 may seem like a thing of the past for some, we are still dealing with the disease at a global level and must take precautions in the best way we can.
Our podcasts on Resilience and Grief taught us that we are not alone in these struggles. While there are many pressures and stress, we have learned that building our resilience can take us a long way and healthy ways of coping with grief and surrounding yourself with the community can do wonders! The last two years have been difficult, and it's important to listen to each other, and learn healthy ways to cope with grief.
Our episode on burnout was one that we all needed to hear. The episode unveiled symptoms that we did not even think about, it made us more aware of the huge impact on people suffering from panic attacks, anxiety, and depression. Learning about burnout helps us choose healthy ways to destress and cope with our everyday problems, instead of falling into substance abuse or other unhealthy patterns.
It's important to explore ways that we can get help to maintain our mental health. We also had an episode on Self Care, and we learned ways in which we all can practice self-care and thereby improve our emotional and mental health.
Our friend Noa Gluzman Kaufman, who is a cancer survivor, came on the podcast to share her story which was very empowering. It just goes to show how important a positive mindset, persistence, and determination can be. Noa taught us to always trust our gut and listen to our bodies. Her journey taught us that a positive mindset can help overcome so much, make one more resilient and help them grow and flourish.
We are really in awe of Noa's determination, and claims this journey has become a huge lesson that has changed her life, and we are sure because her story made a heavy impact on our lives as well. We are so thankful to Noa for sharing her story and we hope our listeners and readers also feel inspired to always have a positive mindset despite our circumstances. Maya Angelou says, “I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.” Let faith resilience, persistence, and determination be your armor as you push through life's challenges.
We hope the coming year of the Forever Young podcast will continue to allow us to share with our community and learn from each other. We look forward to meeting new guests, inviting seniors to tell their stories, and of course other friends and professionals within our network space. We continue to challenge each other to live healthily, mindfully, and peacefully.
